The Russian Law Prize named after Valery Abramovich Musin for contribution to the development of energy law was established by the Association of Lawyers of Russia in 2018.
The prize was established in memory of the famous Russian scientist, lawyer, Doctor of Law – Valery Abramovich Musin (03/28/1939 – 12/22/2015), is a symbol of recognition of the merits of an outstanding scientist and a sign that the Association of Lawyers of Russia strives to support the development of legal science. The prize is awarded on December 3 on Lawyer’s Day.

On December 2, 2023, the award ceremony of the Russian Legal Prize named after V.A. Musin for the contribution to the development of energy law took place in the Column Hall of the House of Unions.
The winners of the Russian Legal Prize named after V.A. Musin for their contribution to the development of energy law in 2023 were: Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Commercial Law of the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University Vladimir Fedorovich Popondopulo; Deputy Chairman of the International Union of Lawyers, member of the Commission of the Association of Lawyers of Russia on Energy Law and the Development of Legislation in the Fuel and Energy Complex Vyacheslav Yuryevich Gusyakov.
