The YOUTH SCIENTIFIC FORUM ON ENERGY LAW on the topic: Legal Regulation of Hydrogen Energy in the Russian Federation and Abroad

The YOUTH SCIENTIFIC FORUM ON ENERGY LAW on the topic: Legal Regulation of Hydrogen Energy in the Russian Federation and Abroad was held on February 25, 2022.

The following issues were discussed: strategic tasks of hydrogen energy development in the Russian Federation and abroad; the concept of hydrogen as an energy resource, legal treatment of hydrogen as a commodity on the energy markets; legal treatment of hydrogen production facilities; legal treatment of hydrogen transportation facilities; legal regulation of the construction of hydrogen filling stations.

Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of Russian and foreign higher education institutions, young specialists of the fuel and energy complex, government agencies, consulting companies, members of the Commission of the Association of Lawyers of Russia on Energy Law and Development of Law in the Fuel and Energy Complex and the Energy Law Association of Serbia participated in the preparation and holding of the forum.

Summing up the session, the participants of the Youth Scientific Forum on Energy Law noted the utmost relevance of the sessions’ topic and the urgent need for legal regulation in the field of hydrogen energy at the national and international level. The participants were particularly interested in issues related to the concept and legal treatment of hydrogen as a commodity in the Russian and international markets, the construction and operation of hydrogen infrastructure, including filling stations, the status of hydrogen energy market entities, state support measures, the powers of regulatory bodies, and pricing issues.

All participants will receive certificates of participation. The participants’ papers will be published in a thematic collection.
