SPIGF-2025: New Horizons and Technologies of the Gas Industry
From October 7 to 10, 2025, the 15th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF) will take place at the ExpoForum Congress and Exhibition Center, St. Petersburg. The Forum is one of the key industry events both in Russia and globally.
The St. Petersburg International Gas Forum has established itself as a respected expert platform for discussing cooperation in the gas industry. Each year, strategic partnership agreements are signed during the Forum, promoting the launch and implementation of large-scale projects.
Forum participants include representatives of federal and regional public authorities; executives, chief engineers, and technologists from Russian and international companies of the gas industry; as well as representatives of leading Russian industrial enterprises, sectoral associations and unions, and young specialists and students of industry-related higher education institutions.
The SPIGF-2025 business program will feature over 110 events: conferences, round tables, workshops, alignment meetings. The technical areas of the program will cover geological exploration, gas production and transportation, gas distribution and consumption, underground storage, and natural gas processing technologies and products. Topics of industry-wide tracks will include international cooperation with CIS countries, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, sustainable development and technological sovereignty; new tools for digital transformation and automation in the gas sector, and other important issues.
The key event of the Forum will be the Gas Market 2025–2035: New Outlines in the Context of Transformation Plenary Session. This Plenary Session annually attracts top executives from major Russian and international companies. It is not just a meeting of industry leaders, but a point of convergence where fundamental forward-looking concepts for the gas sector are shaped, and where current challenges, cutting-edge technologies, economic models, and geopolitical factors affecting global gas supply and consumption are discussed.
For the first time, the Forum’s business program will feature a Strategic Session dedicated to the development of the continental shelf. The Strategic Session will foster open dialogue on pressing issues, including offshore project implementation and major challenges faced by companies developing offshore fields and providing the necessary amenities there.
The Forum will also traditionally include a Youth Day, during which heads of international oil and gas corporations will meet with promising students from industry-related higher education institutions to discuss the development of the gas industry. In 2025, the project will enter a new phase, evolving into the International Acceleration Program: Natural Gas & Accelerator (NG&Accelerator).
The ExpoForum venue is planned to host an exposition of technologies, equipment, and services: the InGAS Stream 2025: Innovations in the Gas Industry International Specialized Exhibition, the Import Substitution in the Gas Industry Corporate Exhibition, the ROS-GAZ-EXPO International Specialized Exhibition of the Gas Industry and Technical Equipment, and the RAO/CIS OFFSHORE 2025 International Exhibition and Conference on the Development of Oil and Gas Resources of the Russian Arctic Region and the Continental Shelf of the CIS Countries.
In 2024, the SPIGF brought together more than 34,000 participants from 54 countries. The business program included 110 events across 19 thematic areas, including gasification of regions, cooperation among BRICS and SCO countries, hydrogen energy, LNG, R&D in the gas sector, import substitution, digital transformation, human resources development, and sustainable development.
